LNP from Vonage to BVX
Tried to enter an LNP order yesterday or the day before to move my Vonage number to Broadvox but got an error after clicking on Verify Portability. Went back in today and completed the order.
Comment: The interface is a bit confusing for those of us wanting to port numbers from VOIP companies like Vonage. The prompts are looking for statement information including a billing address and yet you don't tend to get those from VOIP companies. Well, except for Broadvox, that is!
Anyhow, for the carrier info I left the CLEC name and for the rest of the address info I put in Vonage's name and address.
And there was another confusing part. Something to do with how many numbers you have in your home and then how many are on a single statement? Huh???? I've got four numbers on three statements!! I assumed the question meant how many numbers are billed on the same statement as the number that's getting ported.
It's always disappointing to see that Broadvox is absolutely getting nowhere with the design of its interfaces including confusing text. Just logging into Vonage to search for my statement information reminded me how slick and consistent the Vonage interface is. Really, it's very pretty and if it was a 10 (which I think it is), then the BVX portal is a 1.
We'll see how it goes from here on in! It would be nice to get rid of the extra monthly bill since I've been forwarding my Vonage number to a Broadvox number since the Spring.

So does that mean that LNP actually works at BVX? I've been waiting (and waiting), for LNP before signing up. So do you have to get an account with BVX first, and then port the number?

Yes.
At present there is no tool outside of the portal to verify portability.
I'm not certain if they are still fine-tuning things a bit. Seems there was a false start, and I've not been emailed with a new target date yet
New features are fun! (Mine is to pull from Vonage too. I've been told they've done it. I want to be living proof.)

GOOD news for me!
My Vonage number ported today.
Considering barely more than a month, this went alright
Also considering being one of the earlier beta LNP tests, things are said to go faster now. Note also this was a VONAGE issued line that LNP was applied to, so porting from Vonage number is a REAL possibility.
