Default find me, follow me

When configuring find me, follow me... if I want my Broadvox phone to ring first, must I specify the Broadvox phone number explicitly? That is, in the three numbers that I can configured, must the first be my Broavox number and if none of the three numbers specify my Broadvox number, will it just not be tried?

I had assumed the BVX number needed to be one of them. Maybe I am wrong? I know once my BVX number has rang it say to hold while the party is located. That is when I figured the other two numbers were sequentially tried.

I can't find any docs online that clarify the usage of this feature. On the one hand, I would assume it will always ring your BVX number first and then try up to three other numbers. And I thought I had it setup this way the last time I configured it. But then maybe its trying to give us the flexibility to not have our BVX number ring at all. I can't really see the point in that, though, since finding someone should start with first ringing the telephone connected to the assigned number.

I checked Phoneboy's docs on BVX features and my interpretation of those docs are that you have to put the BVX number in one of those 3 slots if you want it to ring at all.

I believe you do not need to list your BVX number at all if you don't want to. Might be useful when, for instance, you're nowhere near your Broadvox phone.

Well, that's what I don't understand. It doesn't make sense (IMHO) that you should have to list your BVX number. The system should always try that number first without asking the user to list it. After all, the logic is that...

If you are not at your BVX phone...
1) Try this number...
2) Then this number...
3) Then this number...
4) Then go to BVX voicemail.

Why would a user want to say "Don't try my BVX number since I'm not there."?? The whole point of find me, follow me, is that you can leave it on permanently, if I'm not mistaken, which would mean always try my BVX number first.

Anyhow, this feature is dying for documentation (along with the rest of the functionaliy).

So is the consensus, then, that you have to list the BVX number if you want it tried?

That's consistent with how I've used it at least.

I just had a call come through on a line that I have set to use a find me, follow me configuration. My BVX number for that line appears nowhere in the active config and yet the call came straight through to the BVX phone first.
