Default unlocked device and locked in anyway

So, we BV user thought we weren't locked in because we can change our ata to another provider. How do we change our stationery, our web links, our advertising, our credibility. How do we keep our Job!!!! Very, Very Smart deception on BV's part. We were all looking at our ATA's while we were locking ourselves into their "bundled service". We have been outsmarted, but at least it was a very tricky deception.

Default RE: unlocked device and locked in anyway

It is a shame that you feel deceived. Perhaps "lulled into a false sense of security" is a better description. Every one of us read, acknowledged and accepted the same Terms of Service from our respective VoIP service providers. Tney all say, basically, that there are no service level promises or guarantees and that the provider can therefore never be held liable for direct or indirect losses. They all say that VoIP is an adjunct, not a replacement, for ordinary telephone service.

Despite all of this, we have been riding a wave of great competition and high reliability and have come to largely forget the rules of engagement laid out in the ToS. The problems we are experiencing now remind us how vulnerable VoIP really is, and how we need to protect our flanks like the providers have been warning all along.

I just thought their ad on the lower right side of their home page advocating dumping you phone company might sort of make the average person a little more secure to do so. You mean they tell you to dump your phone company in the ad and then say don't rely on us in thier contract. That's FRAUD!!!
