RE: Today I asked BV customer service... The CLEC they use as their LNP agent (which is probably the same CLEC they buy their DIDs from) has to have a presence in the wire center that "owns" the telephone number you wish to port. If you can get a BV DID number in the same wire center that your POTS number is in you have a good chance of getting the POTS number ported over. If you are forced to get a "local" number that is really a couple of towns away from you, the chances are not so good.
