Default Support Number Suggestion

Hello;

As you may know, many of VoIP users also utilize FreeWorldDialup that they can use to call toll-free 1-800 numbers for free. So, it'd be really great if you'd provide us -- your customers -- a toll-free 1-800 support number, or a FWD number that forwards to the current support number, that we can call via FWD instead of using our expensive cellular minutes when our BroadVoice service goes down.

Thank you.

You should be able to dial their customer service as a SIP URL, e.g. 9784187300@sip.broadvoice.com, which means it should work fine with FWD.

How would I call that SIP URL from/using FWD?

I think SIP urls are really convenient with Softphone clients. Not really sure how to dial them from a ATA, I'll go home and try adding one to my SPA speed dial to see if that works.

I regularly install BV for clients here in Japan. My routine is to sign them up using the Voxilla coupon, and then call up Customer Service from the customer's FWD-programmed SPA to get the new BV credentials so I can customize the same SPA. I typically put 9784187300@sip.broadvoice.com into the Speed Dial 9 slot of User 1. I then pick up the attached phone and dial 9# to reach Customer Service.

I typically leave this Speed Dial behind in the ATA for future use.
