| | SPA3000 PSTN to VOIP question Furst, I have to say this site is excellent - I learned so much here that would have taken me weeks to figure out on my own.
I used the SAP3000 utility on this site so that 411 and 911 calls are routed to my PSTN line. I also setup all PSTN calls to be routed to my VOIP line.
My question is: incoming calls on my PSTN line that are routed to the VOIP line - if there is no answer, will the calls go to my VOIP voice mail?
BTW - I am using Broad Voice and I switched from the DCA proxy to the CHI proxy and also set the codec to 726-32 - calls are crystal clear.
Thanks. |

| | RE: SPA3000 PSTN to VOIP question No, they will not because there BroadVoice doesn't provide a VM drop number. You'll have to have an answering machine on your PSTN line.

| | RE: SPA3000 PSTN to VOIP question This sucks...There is no way to tell the SPA3000 to call the VM of the VOIP line? I ask because I want everyone to continue calling the PSTN line (as I setup the SPA300 to send all PSTN calls to the VOIP phones) However, if they call the# than they wont be able to leave a VM message on my BroadVoice VM box.
Your help is greatly appreciated! |

| | RE: SPA3000 PSTN to VOIP question You might be able to get a "Call Forward Busy" or "Call Forward No Answer" feature from your PSTN provider that would allow you to forward your incoming PSTN calls to your BroadVoice number.

| | I have read on this forum of a way to do call forwarding from the PSTN line to the VOIP line WITHIN the SPA settings.
I instead called Verizon and had them put call forwarding on my line.
I programmed in my VOIP telephone number and now everything is fine.
Caller ID info. works great and we can use Broadvoice voicemail too.! |

| | Good idea. Only problem is that if the VOIP line is down, than you cannot receive any phone calls - everything VOIP and PSTN call will go to the VOIP voicemail. |

| | I have had success before trying to get my pstn line to forward to bv voicemail when unanswered, but just tried again and had a sound problem. On the User1 tab I set Cfwd No Ans Dest: to be my BV number, and set the Cfwd No Ans Delay: to 10. On the PSTN Line tab, PSTN Ring Thru Line 1 is set to Yes and the PSTN Ring Thru Line Delay is 5. This successfully rings my BV voicemail (after a couple of overlapping call waiting beeps while my pstn line is calling my voip line twice), but today when I tried this, the VM system kept not hearing my message (telling me that it did not record a message and i should speak after the beep...). I usually forward all VOIP calls to my cell phone anyway, so this doesn't really affect my setup. I know it worked for me once, a long time ago (months if not weeks). Good luck.
