Default SPA-3000 "The device you are using is not registered to

Registered to BV one week ago, with SPA-3000. I am getting this error from time to time. - "The device you are using is not registered to place calls on the network".

Any one can help me out on this?

Thanks,

Who is provisioning the SPA-3000, you or BV? If it is you, how did you provision it? Is BV configured on the Line 1 or PSTN Line half of the ATA? What service provider is on the other side? Does the Info page show that BV or the other provider is Registered?

Do these questions sound familiar? They should, if you have read any postings prior to making one of your own. You know that you need to provide this information so that your problem can be identified, isolated and fixed.

Default RE: SPA-3000 "The device you are using is not registere

I was following BV instructions for SPA-3000 to provision it. The BV was configured on Line 1, HIS service provider is Comcast, Info page shows "Registration State: Registered".

This error only happened twice since I setup the adapter. The SPA-3000 is behinde a Belkin wireless router. I have dynamic IP from Comcast, not sure if that was the reason.

Thanks

I have the same exact symptoms (random "device not registered" messages). I have a BroadVoice-provided (and Broadvoice-configured) ATA, Sipura SPA-1001 and also have Comcast HSI.

I emailed BV tech support a few days ago with no response.

I've since swapped routers (SMC 802.11g barricade) to no avail.

Anybody have any troubleshooting suggestions?

Just a thought.
Did you check your Broadvoice account page for calls you did not make?
If someone else logs in with the same credentials while your device is regestered on sip.broadvoice.com, then you'll loose your registration and the message you're mentioning will be returned on attempted call.

I found this out when I accidentally started up a softphone with my BV username and password remembered, and while my Grandstream ATA was also registered on BV. My ATA immediately lost registration and only came back online after I shut down the softphone and rebooted the ATA.

This is probably the least likely cause of your problem, however the possibility still exists that someone (or something on your LAN) is attempting to log on with your BV credentials and hence you have an intermittent registration loss and a "this device is not..on the network" message.
