Default SPA Failover Question

I have another question. In the event of a power failure, or loss of internet connection, the SPA3000 failsover to the PSTN line. Is there a way to change the dial tone so that the person knows that they are connected to the PSTN and not the VOIP line?

I ask because I plan on moving my PSTN line to life-line service only (Local calling) and my wife will certinly need to know if the call is being forced to the PSTN line.

Thanks again for all your help.

You can change your VoIP dialtone in the Regional Tab. Try using, say, the UK dial tone:

350@-12;10(*/0/1)

Thanks very much...this is exactly what I want - a different dial tone. Which label do I change on that screen? there are a ton of places for this.

I just want to tone of the PSTN line to be different.

Thanks.

If you've failed over to the PSTN line, a hard relay has been thrown between the FXO and FXS port and the SPA-3000 can't change it. How would the SPA-3000 do this in a power outage anyway?

The only dial tone you can change is the VoIP dial tone. Use the "Dial Tone" entry in the Regional Tab.

You can use the sipura localization wizard provided by this very site!

Excellent, though it's missing GuangDong, China localization!

If you can provide China localizations, it can be added fairly easily.

Let me try to give you some info about it:

Localization for GD, China (not necessarely applicable to other provinces)

Dial tone is 450Hz, continous
Busy tone is also 450Hz, 0.35s on/0.35s off
CallerID is same as US (although some carriers use other... it's not a general rule...)

Ringback *should* be same as ringing
Ring cadence: 60(2/4) would do just fine!

Dialtone+Busytone+callerID have been checked personally
ringback & Ringcadence is two things i couldnt check
