Default SPA 2100 Does Not Work Properly

Help.... Just got my SPA2100 from BV yesterday. Got the dial tone right away, but people can hear me (with echo though), I hear nothing. Also, when making call, it does not go through without having to redial a couple more times. Send email and call for support from BV without avail. I went through reset (from handset) SPA as well as reboot my system, did not work either. Read a bunch of user group posting, did not understand most of them :? Thanks for any help you all can give. TC

Maybe a port forwarding problem. For me BV works perfect. Audio quality perfect and latency also fabolous

Need more info, is the ATA provisioned by BV or you've configured it urself?. Assign a static IP to the SPA and forwarrds ports 5060-5065 and 16200-16500 to that IP and see if that fixes ur problem

BV configured it for me, I am a new subscriber. do I assing a sttic IP within my SBC Yahoo DSL? it is alreay has a IP address. also, not sure what do you mean by forwards ports 5060-5065. Please provide specific steps, forgive my old age. Thanks you.

In addition, I am using 2wire homeportal 1000SW, I use the ethend net port for the SPA2100, and using usb port for my first PC. When I open the home network, SPA shows as one node on the network. Will this cause the problem? Last time, when I was testing CISCO ATA without router, it works fine, this SPA 2100 include a router, but I am not using it. Hope this can provide more information for you to help me. Thank you.

I fixed the problem by port fowarding.

my friends said to me that they can hear echo on the other side before i upgrade my spa2100 to 2.0.5d latest firmware. i have no problem after updating it. maybe this will help.
