Default SP3K PSTN-Voip what am I still doing wrong?

I started a thread earlier it died off without resolution. I've got BV a regular phone line and am able to call out off my voip account with great satisfaction. I purchased the Sipura because of it's ability to call in and then out of. I am just trying to figure out what's wrong with my set up. Please help I've included a link to my set up.

First of all, exactly what are you trying to do? Are you trying to call in to your POTS phone and use the SPA to allow you to then dial out via BV?

I can only see your Info page, so it's difficult to learn more, but you don't seem to have any service provider registered on your PSTN Line configuration.

Please answer these two things and we'll go forward from there.

Michael

What I am trying to do is call in from an outside line i.e. my cell phone to my home phone, then access my bv account then call out off of that. I am not sure what information is needed on the pstn line. From my understanding would that not be my traditional phone company info i.e. Qwest,Verzion,SBC? I am not sure why you can't get the info off of the link, the tabs seem to work for me, and it's not saved as an internal file. Thanks

Benjamin,

I think you do indeed need to have some kind of VoIP account setup on the PSTN line as well; The PSTN is not the general POTS company (like QWest. Telus, BT etc etc) that you are thinking of. It is FOR interacton with the POTS provider. I have uploaded my working SPA3000 file here: http://voxilla.com/forum-viewtopic-t-751.html

Yo can modify it by changing the password, username/AuthID, and with a few changes, can upload the changes directly to your SPA without having to try to match ur device with the file.

Keep in mind thouhg, I've setit up to assign a Static IP of 192.168.1.100 to the SPA, have got MY ISPs DNS server entries instead of BVs, the Web Server Port is changed to 1234.If you IP are of the smae range, and you don't have another other device with 192.168.1.100, then you dont need to modify this.

rizsher tried going there still not working... when I call in I get a quick 3beep string the same sound as a busy but in quick sucession. your set up is no longer available off that string as far as settings go. I made sure both ports set to 5060, tried registering the pstn and the line 1 to the same account. Put in the info of my actual phone voip tn as my account, and my password that I used for pstn and line 1 was the SIP acct password. Where should I look next?

The file is there.. I just checked, look at the last post from me in that msg. There are too many variables to list here, (well not too many, but still). I think the 3 beeps you;re getting are the PIN Entry prompt, think you've got PSTN-VoIP Authentication set to Pin. DIsable that to start with and see how things go.

Default RE: SPA-3000 with BroadVoice and Verizon

What you are trying to do, if you wish to do it with only one BV phone number, is both possible and risky.

First, the possible part. You need to use the Voxilla Wizard to register your BV credentials into both the Line 1 and the PSTN Line side of the box. You see, the SPA-3000 is really two devices under one roof, with some interaction between the two sides. When you are at home you use the Line 1 side to make calls via the Line 1 service provider (BV). When you are out you use the PSTN Line side to make calls via the PSTN Line service provider (also BV). It is not possible to call your VZ number (which is on the PSTN Line side of the box) and call out using the Line 1 service provider.

The risky part is that you need to be very careful to avoid (prevent) simultaneous usage of both the Line 1 and PSTN Line halves of the box at the same time. BV may take this as a violation of their requirement that you use their service from only one place at a time.

Your points 1 and 4 get into the realm of crafting a Dial Plan. There are many discussions here that can get you going with a good Dial Plan. You will end up with elements like 911S0<:@gw0> and [2-9]xxxxxxS0<:@gw0> in your Dial Plan to satisfy your requirements for number 4.

Your points 2 and 3 are covered in the PSTN-to-VoIP section of the SPA-3000. The Voxilla Wizard will set up the first PIN for this purpose for you.
