Default sipura-2100 lan/wan setup

just got sipura 2100 provision (with some trouble see my other post),
one thing caught my eyes, that is the guide to create and upload config.
i think this was by PhoneBoy, very nice indeed.

the config page would probably need to be updated to make possible to
provision an account for the 2100 model, but there is one thing that did cause me some grief,
(or sipura 2100 acts differently then the previous models). this is the reference to pointing your browser
to the ip (the dhcp ip) that sipura box obtained from either service provider or your internal lan (wan ip to make it clear got by ****73738#1)
in the config page it will ask you to put this ip so the config can be pushed in (i guess) to the box, unfortunately despite that this can be true you have no way of getting your browser to this ip since the wan port is block by default (port 80). you have to first put pc on the lan side
get to sipura web server and enable port 80 for the wan port, then the rest becomes the true. it is minor thing but if you try to strictly follow the guide you are not going anywhere become of that.

other then this the automagic config page looks very nice and when updated for the 2100 model will be cool tool to use it.

I have a related problem, I think. I have set up the 2100 using a laptop on the LAN port and have both lines operational. However, when I disconnect the laptop, I can still connect from my main PC, via its address on my Linksys router, at 192.168.1.53. When I restarted the PC this morning, I was 'refused permission' to access the 2100 until I connected and logged in to the 2100 with my laptop. Again disconnecting the laptop still allowed access from the main PC.

Is there therefore a way to gain access to the 2100 without a PC connected to its LAN port?

As there was no documentation included with the SPA 2100, I had to download the quickstart docs from the Sipura site. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a link to the SPA 2100 Manual on line. I did email Voxilla yesterday, but have not had a reply so far. The SPA 2000 manual covers much of the info but not of course the router section of it and ways of accessing it.

You have to enable web access on the WAN side. You do this in the Voice section, System tab.

We'll update the Wizard with SPA-2100 specific information about the IP address.

Thanks Phoneboy.

Do you know if there is a SPA 2100 manual or supplement to the SPA 2000 available anywhere?

Not that I am aware of, but now there's firmware posted for the SPA-2100. And it turns out I will have to get a new SPA-2100.

I'm surprised that not only was there no info sent with the SPA I purchased, but there is nothing available, apart from the online quick startup guide.

I just updated the firmware.

You did get your RMA and the issue is now being handled by our shipping folks.

My particular SPA-2100 was a pre-release version, seeing as how I got it a couple of months ago. Unfortunately, they had to make a motherboard change since then which makes my box incompatible with the current released firmware. I'm waiting for a new SPA-2100 to arrive on Friday. That still means that you need to upgrade your firmware, but it's going to be 2.0.4, not a 2.1.x version like I had posted previously.
