I have a Sipura 1001 device I bought to use with Broadvoice's BYOD program. I've been using it with very little problems for probably close to 2 years now. After reading up on these devices today it looks like if you purchase a Sipura device from a VoIP provider it can come locked to that carrier. Since I bought this device from a third party I don't believe it is locked from the factory however after performing Broadvoice's automatic setup as outlined on their support website it seems as though I can no longer log in to the configuration page. I'd like to do so as I'm trying to find a solution to a problem I have. Can I get in to the config page without factory resetting the device?
If I can I have another question that somebody familier with these devices might be able to answer. In my apartment the phone lines in the walls are connected to an intercom system at the door. People dial my apartment number on the door and it sends a ring signal to the POTS wiring in the apartment (even if you don't have telephone service). You can then press 0 to let the person in. So, I plugged my Sipura device in to the wall POTS socket and tried to dial my apartment from the intercom at the door. To my surprise my Sipura box picked up and I got a dialtone at the door from which I can dial any number via Broadvoice. I thought to myself, sweet now I can find a way to have it automatically dial my cell phone so I can let people in from anywhere. There are three things that need to happen if I keep it set up like this though.
1. I need lock it down so it only dials a specified number. If not, anyone can start making phone calls from the intercom at the door.
2. I need it to be automatic so when the Sipura box picks up when somebody dials from the door it will either ring the phone or forward the call to another number.
3. I still need to be able to use the phone in the apartment to make calls. I assume if something is set up like this, if I go to make a call from inside the apartment as soon as I pick up the phone it would start dialing a number.
The only way I can see it working is if the Sipura box can differentiate a ring signal from an off hook signal, which right now doesn't seem to be the case.
Anybody have thoughts on this?
