| | Problem with call quality to Brazil ? Hi,
Recently I have noticed call quality to Brazil got bad. There's intermittent noise on the line. Sometimes the connection even goes down. The noise is a static that's hearable several times per minute.
Anyone else experiencing this?
I am using the DCA proxy. I have noticed that the IP address has changed from 147.135.2.128 to 147.135.0.128.
ciao,

| | 147.135.0.128 is still the IP address for proxy.dca.broadvoice.com, and 147.135.2.128 is the IP for proxy.dca2.broadvoice.com. I am assuming they are two, different proxies. Have you tried any other proxies? There are seven more to choose from. |

| | Hi,
yes... I have this problem with both of these IP's as well as the NYC proxy. Only calls to Brazil have the static noise.
It's getting very annoying and unfortunately I have to consider changing provider. I would hate to do that though as for calls to Brazil you can't beat the unlimited world plus plan.

| | I am experiencing noise as well on most calls to Brazil. I am using the ATL proxy.
During the calls I do not see much packet loss, decode latency or jitter in the statistics from the SPA2002.
Is there other information that might be helpful in resolving this?

| | seems like we have to live with this until they fix it. I managed to get the customer service people to open a trouble ticket with their engineering department. However whenever that happens I have the impression that the ticket vanishes in nirvana and maybe eventually the problem is fixed (or fixes by itself). |

| | Re: Problem with call quality to Brazil ? I too have noticed this problem for calls to Brazil. On the US calls side calls are excellent, but Brazil calls there's a hisssssing sound like crazy. I called tech support and their attitude is "live with it". If you asked me I think it's a ploy to get people brazucas to talk less since we are all cara-de-pau and overuse/abuse their system anyways! |

| | Re: Problem with call quality to Brazil ? Unfortunately I have to agree. I have a ticket open with their engineering department though. About every 3 weeks I ask for a status and the response is only that it's still open ....
Please send mail to support@broadvoice.com though and have them open a ticket with engineering. Hopefully when they have more customers complaining about this they'll actually do something. |

| | Re: Problem with call quality to Brazil ? Well Internet doesn't seem to be the problem, only the calls to brazil, which means that broadvoice is saving money with his carrier for the calls to brasil: less bandwidth per call on the PSTN, which affects the quality. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
