Default Possible to Route DID to Broadvoice ???

I just acquired a Tokyo-based DID number and wanted to know if I can direct that to a Broadvoice account. If yes, then I will sign up with Broadvoice. If not, then perhaps some suggestions can be made as to which *high quality* VOIP provider allows incoming DID's to be routed to them.

I'm on Vonage now and I love their service. Just can't stand that they are such a walled garden. Rgds.... - John

Default RE: Possible to Route DID to Broadvoice ???

Yes this is possible, though it depends on how your DID provider wants you to structure the URI.

I'm using Voxbone here in Europe, and their URI is pretty simple:

sip:acountnumber@sipprovider.com

Check with your DID provider for specifics.

Geoffrey

Don't think Broadvoice allows incoming SIP Calls, so it won't be possible. In addition, I think BV forces u to use an OB Proxy, so its not really possible to point SIP calls directly to your ATA either.

Jeff Pulver's now partially closed down Libretel service used to offer sip forwarding to Broadvoice.

You are correct Rizsher, Broadvoice no longer accepts inbound SIP calls. I have Broadvoice set up on line 1 of a SPA 3K, and managed to have my IPKall number and FWD number directly sent to the SPA. The outbound proxy from Broadvoice is not used.

Dracofelis has a tutorial on how to receive SIP calls directly to the SPA, and if you have a fixed IP, it's very easy.
