Default Outbound proxy status ...

More trouble today with BV service, but working well on some proxies. Based on some tests this morning, here's what I found:

LAX: fast busy on all outgoing calls
CHI: outgoing and incoming rings, but no sound either way
MIA: works correctly for all incoming and outgoing
DCA: works correctly for all incoming and outgoing
NYC: didn't try it

Note that I switched primary number about 2 days ago, and perhaps that has something to do with it, although I'm not having trouble registering on all proxies that I've tried.

Default RE: Outbound proxy status ...

Results have varied for me wildly throughout the past few days, but I'm getting the same results as giasone now. I did not make any changes to my account, this is some major BV fkup. Failing an actual explanation of what has happened, we can only make speculative guesses as to the apparent incompetence.

Just an update.

LAX proxy is still down for me (fast busy on all calls -- no incoming).
DCA proxy appears to be working correctly.

My testing is limited back and forth between BV number and a T-Mobile cell phone in 512 area code. Here's the latest on proxy status that I know of:

MIA: works correctly for all incoming and outgoing
DCA: works correctly for all incoming and outgoing
LAX: outgoing and incoming rings, but no sound for some calls
CHI: outgoing and incoming rings, but no sound for some calls
NYC: others have mentioned that it's working correctly

I have 2 broadvoice numbers -- one is XO, other is GLBX. I think LAX and CHI are still having some issues.

In addition, if I set up call-forwarding-always (CFA) to my cell phone, I get the following on all working proxies:

1) CFA through my XO BroadVoice number. Works perfectly.
2) CFA through my Global Crossing number. Rings, but no sound either way.

OK -- I hope that this is final update. I am now back on LAX proxy, but tried NYC and also tried CHI one more time as well.

MIA: works correctly for all incoming and outgoing
DCA: works correctly for all incoming and outgoing
LAX: works correctly for all incoming and outgoing
CHI: works correctly for all incoming and outgoing
NYC: works correctly for all incoming and outgoing

I have 2 broadvoice numbers -- one is XO, other is GLBX.

On call-forwarding-always (CFA) to my cell phone, I get the following on all working proxies:

1) CFA through my XO BroadVoice number. Works perfectly.
2) CFA through my Global Crossing number. Works perfectly.

Simultaneous ring worked perfectly when dialing BroadVoice line configured for each proxy when dialing both XO (primary number) and GLBX (alternate line).

As far as I can tell (and again my tests are confined to use of 4 different numbers on 3 different phone lines), all proxies are functioning without errors for all tests that I attempted.

Outgoing does not work for me with any of these. Incoming seems to be fine for now.

I would guess that maybe my small subset of numbers is fine but that other areas are still broken. When you say none of your outgoing numbers are working, have you tried the following:

1) Your primary BV number (which should take you straight to voice mail)
2) 1-800-555-8355 (TELL ME free information service)
3) 611 (BroadVoice support)

If those 3 are working, you may want to try some numbers outside your normal calling area. I tend to like to pick on Wal-Marts across the U.S. because I know they're open 24 hours a day in many places. Of course I'm polite and always ask how late they're open :-)

Perhaps the most important one is 611 so that you can actually call for support from BV.

None work. Dead air, then fast busy.

It's Day Six.

The thing has all gone to, well, poop again. All the proxies I've tried are either broken or are doing the connect-but-no-audio thing. Man, this is a clown show.

[Edit] Just checked outgoing call and I've got dead air too. I think I'm going to turn my BV line off until tomorrow night -- so time consuming.

*******************************

If you can't reach 611 and voicemail, I would have to say that your problem is very different from the other things going on this week.

You're going to have to get somebody on the phone at BV and work this one through with them. Several people have mentioned FWD approaches to reaching customer service if you don't have another 'free' line with which to work. Some questions:

1) Are you on BYOD plan?
2) Are you using a Sipura 2000?
3) Is BV the only line on your Sipura?
4) Is the MAC address for your Sipura registered with BV?
5) Have you ever allowed BV to fully provision your device?
6) Do you have all passwords for your device so that you can configure it yourself?

Again, you probably need to work this through with BV -- your problem sounds totally different from everything else I've read and experienced with BV's problems during the last week. The fact that you have incoming, but no outgoing is definitely strange in my experience.
