Default One way audio... again !

The recurring Broadvoice problem of placing a call and not being able to hear the other person speak has ruturned worse than ever. In the past it was a fleeting problem that would go away after an hour or two but this time it has been going on for over a week. Nearly two-thirds of the calls I place end up this way. I hear it ring but can't hear the other person speaking. I have two Broadvoice accounts (on two different SPA's) and several friends scattered around the state (Florida). We are all experiencing the same problem.

Broadvoice - Please fix this !!!

I can't believe there are no other postings here on Voxilla about this problem. Like I said, it's been going on this time for over a week ! I'm getting tired of using my cellphone at home !!!

What proxy server are you using? I have been on NYC and DCA and my calls have been flawless for the past week.

Hi Benjamin,

We started out self provisioning but went to automatic (Broadvoice) provisioning about six months ago because I lacked the free time to stay on top of which proxy's are working "this week" and which ones aren't. I have two Broadvoice accounts myself and several friends that I "take care of". The workload got unbearable. In this case I contacted Broadvoice and they switched the proxy's for me (less than automatic). At this point I may go back to self provisioning but the better solution would be for Broadvoice to do a better job maintaining their network. That way nobody has to "pick" the correct proxy because they are all correct !! Your thoughts ?

Oh, of course, all the proxies should work. I was just asking which one you were using because if you were using DCA or NYC, the problem would most likely have been on your end.

To BV's credit, I have found the proxies to be improving in stability, though your experience has obviously been different.

I've been experiencing the same issue lately and I'm in Florida as well. I'll dial a number 3 times and the receiving party can hear me but I can't hear them. Then I'll dial a different number and it works. But when I call the 1st number again, it's hit-or miss if I'll be able to hear them.

I've tried adjusting my firewall, resetting my adapter. Nothing seems to help. I can't adjust the proxy via the device, so I suppose I'm stuck with calling them.

Very frustrating.

I just emailed them and got a response right away. Are you connected via Bellsouth DSL ?

Is anyone still having this problem... as I am... I simply put can not get two way audio to work anymore... one day it was working the next its not.... POOF GONE...

I can hear audio coming from broadvoice, but it just seems to loose track of any audio stream coming from my server... its like they moved there servers behind NAT and screwed up the connection tracking or something...

Please let me know if you've got this figured out because it's killing me..

Thanks,
Dan
