RE: Number port from Vonage to Broadvoice There are a couple of basic rules at play here. In order for you to successfully port a number into BroadVoice you must meet both of these rules.
First, the phone number you are transferring must be registered to you. This means that you must have gotten the number from a legitimate phone company - an ILEC or CLEC fixed provider or a mainstream cellular service provider. Numbers assigned by a VoIP service provider are generally purchased in bulk from a CLEC and are registered as a block to the VoIP service provider to be "lent" to the end user as part of the service. These numbers are not available for porting.
Second, BroadVoice's DID supplier must have an operating presence in the Rate Center the number in question is homed to. For much of the US this is not a problem, but there are some remote (and not-so-remote) areas of the US where a single ILEC still serves the entire community. Voxilla members in Maine and near Rochester, NY, live in these areas.
If your number answers "yes" to both conditions you can have your number ported into BroadVoice (and ported out again, if you wish).
