Dear,

first of all thanks for your detailed reply and sorry for the PM. I did search the whole forum and was desperatly looking for help...

So : In the object description was also mentioned "E-Mail us as to your choice of SPA-1001 or SPA-2100 same price. If no e-mail SPA-2100 will be shipped."... I did receive a 1001. Also found in the description (and confirmed by the seller) was :
The SPA-1001 supports the Sipura VSP feature. VSP stands for "Virtual Services Port." With VSP, users can configure the SPA-1001 to register with two independent VoIP services. Inbound calls can be alerted using a distinctive ring and outbound calls are supported using a configurable dialed access code, e.g. 9 or #. A conversation with a party on VoIP service #1 can be conferenced with a party on VoIP service #2 by simply using the three-way conferencing feature on the SPA-1001"

So because of this confirm (there is only one PHYSICAL phone line but seller told me that it should be possible to user line 2 with another VSP), I bought the object. Now the device seems not to be upgradeble and I have a SPA1001 with only one service line, what was not like promised...

I remember Discount For Less did state something like that before. In contrast, it appears to me that they only sell SPA-1001BV at http://stores.ebay.com/Discount-For-Less now.

I have found above statement in web page at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...OMOBOX:NEWLIST and believe it is simply copied from http://www.sipura.com/products/spa1001.htm that is specifically for SPA-1001, not SPA-1001BV.

Again, for SPA-1001 only, not SPA-1001BV that is what you have brought; firmware can be upgraded to increase hardware capability from one line to two lines per followings:
http://www.sipura.com/Documents/SPA-1001.pdf “*In the future, the capability to add a second independently configurable service to the SPA-1001, via the single RJ-11 phone port, will be made available as firmware upgrade.”

http://www.sipura.com/Documents/rnote/rn1001-se.htm

In other words, for SPA-1001, again, not SPA-1001BV that is what you have brought; upgrading firmware version to 2.0.13 SEg or 3.1.8 will add a second independently configurable service to the SPA-1001 (again, not SPA-1001BV that is what you have brought), via the single RJ-11 phone port. Such firmware upgrade is available directly from Sipura via http://www.sipura.com/support/index.htm .

For SPA-1001BV, its firmware cannot be upgraded from anywhere else but BroadVoice (may be you can try to crack it :shock. The latest version of firmware available from BroadVoice for both SPA-1001 or SPA-1001BV is 2.0.10e as you can see yourself via http://www.broadvoice.com/support_in...od_sipura.html .

Since second line feature was not added until firmware version 2.0.13g, any firmware version lower than 2.0.13g does not have second line feature.

I believe you should contact the seller and inform her/him that (s)he should not have copied “Application Note:” from the bottom of web page at http://www.sipura.com/products/spa1001.htm . After all, please remind her/him that (s)he is not selling SPA-1001. Instead, (s)he is selling SPA-1001BV.

Dear, the seller (I think, I hope) and myself are not satisfied with this situation because discountforless was (according to what I think) handling "in good willing" (I hope you understand, because my English is not quite perfect...), but not well informed. In the emails we sent each other BEFORE I bought, I informed and he told me that there WILL be a second line, I COULD upgrade firmware and it would also be possible to use SKYPE (by example) on the second line (because I thought it was not SIP, I re-asked, but he confirmed again).

Now I know I bought a 1001BV (instead of a 1001) and the firmware is not upgradable (anyone who can crack it?) the device is not like "promised" (read: expected). If there's no possibility to get that second line I need (that's the reason I bought it), I'd like to have my money back. If somebody knows a way to get that 2nd line (read "crack"?), I have what I bought and I'll be happy with it.

Again, I do NOT want to say the seller lied to me or would sell me a "wrong" item but if HE was wrong with his information, MY opinion is that HE has to solve it (and take it back)...

That's it. Whether they knew they were promising features that are not available or they answered your questions incorrectly out of ignorance, I believe you should ask for your money back.
