Default No dialtone with broadvoice

Hi all,
I'm using broadvoice from dubaii and the service was great until I decided to switch to the BYOD plan and upgrade to the sipura 3000 adapter from the sipura 1000 I got from broadvoice.

I tried the instructions on http://www.broadvoice.com/support_in...od_sipura.html several times and have yet to hear a dialtone. Broadvoice support hasn't been much help either. I even tried the old spa 1000 device, after setting its MAC address in the broadvoice account page, but even that doesn't work now.

I know etisalat (the isp here) doesn't block port 5060, there are lots of people using VoIP services from US providers including broadvoice. However I noticed (with netcat) that port 8080 is blocked, and that's what broadvoice uses for something called profile rule. The uri is http://config.broadvoice.com:8080/$MA.cfg . Does the adapter need to connect to this often or just once?

Btw, I have root access to servers in the US, so I can set up any kind of server for hopping if needed. I just don't know what I need to do Thanks in advance for any suggestions. or pointers to more information.

Regards,
Yahya

Previous postings here are a valuable resource of knowledge. For example, you can learn that the Voxilla Wizard will configure your SPA for BroadVoice with little effort. All you need are the credentials you read from your Account Portal. Try out the wizard and let us know how you make out.

Thanks very much. That wizard worked and I can make calls through broadvoice again. Apparently the byod instructions on broadvoice's site weren't the only way to do it.
btw, I did search the forums, it's just that I need to get more background knowlege before I can understand a lot of the posts here
