Default New to VIOP. Need help setup Sipura 300 and Broadvoice

First of all let me apologize for starting a new thread when so much information is available on this forum.
That the problem. There is so much information here that I get lost reading thru and forget where I started. Like I said, I am New to VOIP and have no idea what is being said (Tech).

Here is what I want to do.
1. Hook only one phone to the Phone Jack of the Sipura 3000.

2. Setup broadvoice as line 1

3. Connect my home line to the PSTN jack of the sipura 3000.

4. Receive all my calls to both line on this one phone connected tot he Phone Jack on sipura 3000.

5. Setup gateway to work as follows

5a. When I get a call to VOIP line the phone rings more than 5 times a request to enter pin to switch to pstn line is prompted.

5b. once the call is sent to to the pstn line the pstn line rings for 5 times and if there is no answer, I want the pstn line to request a pin for receiving a dial tone to be able to make calls using my pstn line.

5c. if the pin is good, I get a dial tone of the pstn number and I can dial local numbers.

6. If there is no pin, all the call go to my broadvoice voicemail.

7. I want the same vice versa.

is this possible? how complecated is the setup? has anyone done something like this? any screen prints would be helpful.

BTW, I tried the config from this site and was not successful.

By now you must be fuming on the request. Take a deep breath. I need help setting this up.
Thanks.

I would also like to know how this can be done.

Something I find confusing is if the sip provider locks your spa3000 (or whatever the byod device is), do you still have enough control over it to do what sgaddam wants?

First of all, canam101, this is only possible at all if you have an unlocked SPA.

Then, sgaddam:

1.-4. So far, so good.

5a. What service provider do you have registered as the PSTN Line service provider here? As long as it is not the same BroadVoice line that is registered to Line 1, you are good here.

5b. The SPA can be configured so that when someone calls your POTS phone number the call will ring through to your Line 1 telephone for the 5 rings you desire. Upon the 6th ring it can answer the phone and prompt for a PIN. This is the PSTN-to-VoIP function. Upon the entry of a valid PIN the SPA will present a Dial Tone to the caller and will allow the caller to call any destination permitted by the Dial Plan associated with that PIN via the VoIP provider registered to the PSTN Line.

5c. In order to dial out via your PSTN Line the caller must call in via the VoIP number registered to the PSTN Line and enter a PIN that you have registered in the VoIP-to-PSTN section of your PSTN Line configuration page. Upon entry of a Valid PIN the caller will be permittted to call any destination permitted by the Dial Plan associated with that PIN via your PSTN Line.

6. Upon 3 invalid PIN entries (you can choose the number of attempts) the caller will be given a reorder tone and will need to dial in again.

7. I have no idea what the vice versa of 6. might be. Could you explain?

I have a feeling that some of these explanations will help you identify the reasons complete success has eluded you so far. Please read these comments and ask more directed questions. Before you know it the SPA will be doing what you want.

Michael

Thanks for the confidence.
5a. I have broadvoice. I got the userid and password to unlock my device from broadvoice support. But the Admin password is not working. I sent a note back for more help.

7. The vice versa is for 5(b). Here is what I want. I connect a local phone company line (basic service) as the PSTN line. When I am travelling abroad, I want to call my broadvoice number and get the dial tone from the PSTN line (PIN setup of course) to make local calls (which are free). In the same way, when I am out of my home and I want to make international calls, say to LONDON (which is free with broadvoice sign-up) I want to call my land line number and get the dial tone for the broadvoice line1 and be able to dial out. Ofcourse, I want o be able to be given the chance to answer the phone itself, and thats the reason for "ring 5 times" option and then the request for pin only when the PSTN2VOIP was switched or go to the broadvoice voicemail.
I am sure I confusing some readers. The crux of the setup I want is the ability to use the gateway both ways and be ablet o utilize the broadvoice voicemail and other features.

In my previous try, I was able to call my VOIP(broadvoice) line and get request for pin, switch to land line and dialout to my cell (caller ID was my land line). But within the same setting, when I called my land line, I was not able to get the request for the pin. I got my verizon voicemail.

I changed some settings based on the input in this forum, wand I was able to call my land line, switched to broadvoice line using pin and call my cell phone (caller ID was broad voice number). However, within this same setting I was not able to call my broadvoice line and switch to land line. It went to broadvoice voicemail instead.

It will be very difficult to accomplish all of that with only one BV line and one SPA3000. To do what you want yo probably want to add an FX-200 to the mix, as I recommended to another fellow in this thread.

I would like to have the above feature but my POTS phone line is connected to a voice mail box. So after several rings, the POTS phone will connect to the voice mail box. Is there a way to have both voice mail on my POTS number and PSTN-to-VoIP?

I didn't realize that i have to buy another piece of equipment. The thought that the Sipura 3000 has a PSTN gateway function built-in which allows Transfer-In and Transfer out.
The FX 200 is about 50 big ones. I will have to rethink if I really want to do this.

Thanks all for your help. I will repost to this thread if I buy the FX-200.

Before I can make the decision, I would like to find out if the Transfer-In and Transfer-out functionality i described above can be setup to request pin either way. I don't want to directly get dialing tone. I want aPIN challenge.

Dear mberlant, I know this is asking for too much, but would you be able to help me set this up after I buy the FX-200? Your response would be important to help me make my decision to buy the FX200.
I know I need this setup but whats the point of buying more equipment if I can't set it up. I couldn't setup the SIPURA3K and I am sure I won'tbe able to set up the SIPURA3K with the FX200.
Thanks
