Default New Number & Auth ID

Hello all;

I'm on the BYOD Unlimited World Plus Plan with Sipura 2000, and I'm loving it so far. And I recently had to change my primary number to the one of my area as it wasn't available when I signed up over a month ago. The change was very easy; however, I noticed that Sipura was still -- and is -- using my old number as its Auth ID with "Use Auth ID" set to "yes."

So I e-mailed their tech support and got all the credentials, and they even changed my Auth ID manually to my new number; however, registration fails if my new number is used as Auth ID. They said they will have to ccontact their engineering department about it.

What I'm concerned about is the potential conflict down the road when that number gets released and someone else using it as his/her Auth ID.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

Default RE: New Number & Auth ID

Hi Cyberian75,
I had similar experience when I changed my number. BV changed my password too (which I didn't know) but it seemed that the change took serveral days to take effect. I was able to register with the old number for few days but after that I was not able to register using the old number.

My configuration is as follows (fields populated by the voxilla wizard)
Use Auth ID:no
User ID: [new phone number]
Password: [new password]

Hope it helps.

That's strange. For me, setting the "Use Auth ID" option to "no" fails the registration.

Thanks for your reply, though.

I've had trouble getting emails returned before. You may want to give them a call, as they've always been very helpful that way (at least once you get through to them).
