| Hi All, I need some help. I've spent days going through dozens of websites trying different configurations and no matter what I do, I can't even get a dial tone on my phone. I am using a Wireless Router/Phone Adapter from Linksys. It is the WRTP54G which has been unlocked from Vonage. My most recent attempt used the setup instructions from http://www.broadbandreports.com/foru...51400#14553766 With no luck. Can someone please help me get this thing working? As of tonight, when I go to the voice tab of my router setup screen is says "REGISTRATION STATE: FAILED" I thought this might be related to a user id or password problem, but I've tried every combination under the sun from both Broadvoice and my account. THANK YOU anyone that can help me get this working. gopsr@hotmail.com |

| The BroadVoice Side of the equation Step 1 BroadVoice Account Portal --> Account >> My Devices --> Edit Verify the settings pictured: ![]() Step 2 BroadVoice Account Portal --> Account >> My Devices --> Show Settings Make a note of the following settings for use in the router settings: ![]() Note on DTMF and Tx: As stated above, rfc2833 is preferred by BroadVoice. The wrtp54g uses the term AVT to refer to rfc2833. This is important for the DTMF Tx Method field in Step 5 below. The wrtp54g allows the selection of AVT or InBand, and a variety of other combinations, but no perfect combination of only AVT + InBand. Since there is no perfect option for BroadVoice, I have this field set to Auto and it has worked properly for me so far. If you have problems when calling into an automated touch tone menu, try setting this field to strictly AVT or InBand. Also, I have set the Hook Flash Tx Method field directly below that to AVT rather than INFO for the same reason. I have not tested the Hook Flash functionality so if you have trouble with clicking over on call waiting or the like, that would be the field to test. continued below... | ...continued The wrtp54g side of the equation These are my working settings in the wrtp54g control panel Voice section with Admin and Advanced selected. I believe the settings under Provisioning are still set to the defaults. I wish I remembered just the settings I changed so I could highlight them. Many of the following fields are defaults. Step 3 wrtp54g --> Voice --> System ![]() Step 4 wrtp54g --> Voice --> SIP ![]() Step 5 wrtp54g --> Voice --> Line 1 (or Line 2) Use data from Step 2 where applicable. Dial Plan: (*xx|[3469]11|0|00|[2-9]xxxxxx|1xxx[2-9]xxxxxxS0|xxxxxxxxxxxx.) ![]() Note: It is probably possible to change the Outbound Proxy field (indicated with the red 1 above) to the one with fastest response times to your location. This process is described somewhere in the Broadvoice Support section and other places. I have not tested it with the wrtp54g with this configuration. Step 6 wrtp54g --> Voice --> Info Check that Registration State has changed from Failed to Registered. ![]() Last edited by badenoch : February 17th, 2008 at 03:19 AM. |

| It is necessary to change or clear the *86 from the Call Back Deact Code field or you will not be able to call into your voicemail. wrtp54g --> Voice --> Regional ![]() |
