Default echo on BroadVoice line

for last couple days I have an annoying problem on my BV line - the other party constantly have echo. The speed is decent (5Mb/384Kb) and if I am using the other line (CallPacket or StanaPhone) - everything is OK. So, it doesn't seem to be the adapter (SPA-2002). Has anybody noticed the same? I am using DC (proxy-dca.broadvoice.com) as outbound proxy. I have provisioning turned off - should I turn it on (and wipe out the settings on the second line) to refresh the settings?

Default RE: echo on BroadVoice line

I would slightly reduce the FXS Input Gain setting on the BV line. See if this helps.

I see FXS input gain in Regional tab (needless to say I have no idea what it means). It is set to -3. So, I have two questions:
1. reducing -3 would be -4? or -2? Or slightly means -3.5?
2. It will affect the other line as well, right? (That is, I can't change it on the BV line). So, what would be the effect on the second line (CallPacket, StanaPhone)?

BTW, the problem went away today. I am told that it happens about once a week or so. I'll try when it happens again.

Thanks

You can only change the gain settings in integer increments. -4 would be where I'd go.

I have noticed this too, only in my calls to the Cleveland Ohio Area. When I try and call a Columbus ohio number life is good. I tried several different devices, and a couple of proxies with the same result. I think it depends on which carrier terminates the call. Whoever BV uses to terminate calls in the cleveland area is hosed. I emailed one of the engineers at BV, as this has been a problem for me in the past. They were able to get it under control in the past. I have not heard back from him yet, however I emailed him over the weekend. I will keep you posted. It may help to know what area you are calling and hearing echo. I am sure area code and exchange would be helpful. If you want I can pass that info along to BV.
