Default Caller ID without name?

I am wondering if there is anyone has the same caller id name problem as my BroadVoice phone service has.

When someone called, I can only see their phone number, and the name is always unavailable. I used Call Manager to set it and still could not get caller name.

Please help!

Thanks.

Default RE: Caller ID without name?

It depends. Sometimes I get "Wireless caller" or a city name. Sometimes I get "Unknown Name". From another SIP connection I get the right information.

I checked my BroadVoice online activity log. their log doesn't get the caller name either, only the number. Do you guy think Sipura 3000 has anything to do with this weird behavior? My adapter is behind the Westell versalink router. Is it possible that problem is caused by firewall? It is set to low.

Your SPA-3000 cannot display anything your telephone company (service provider) does not send its way. Nothing in, nothing out.

I've had BV since Nov/Dec 04 --- up until Feb it was showing the name, I was impressed becaus other providers were kinda sloppy in this area. It seems now that there is no name delivered - just the number and unknown name.

Maybe someone (att??) isn't allowing them to use their db anymore..... I don't know.

I am a new user and was testing to see if outbound caller ID worked. Same thing you folks saw on inbound calls- a number but no name...

Was that your experience on outbound as well?

I finally got thru to BV support. Asked about changing the CID name on BV number. He said that that feature was a problem on their end and they were working on it.

as far as I know.. BV doesn't support outgoing CID w/Name.. only incoming. I am thinking the people who do nhot receive incoming CID names bust be your rate centers fault. I have a NYC area code and my incoming CID works fine and also shows the name

I am using a Sipura 2100 and get no name in the Miami / Florida area. My regular Bellsouth line provided the name and number no problem.

Just wondering if it is ever going to work or if there is some setting in the 2100 I need to change?

I also look thru the caller ID log and all have wrong time and date even though my time and date on the phone system is set correctly ???

Gus
