Default Caller ID Blocked

I wanted to block all incoming calls where the caller number is blocked, and now my number is blocked for all outgoing calls

No matter what I try (including *65), I can't get the number to display on recipients' caller IDs. Changing the option in the BV Portal has no effect at all.

This is a major problem; I can't call a lot of my friends because they block numbers where the number is explicitly blocked (privacy management).

Anybody else have this problem?

Dave

Default RE: Caller ID Blocked

Hi DaveLissa, well this is very easy to fix when you sign into your account at broadvoice. What you need to do is enable annoymous call rejection, & disable caller ID blocking. If you want to block your number like you have it set right now, but want to be able to use the *65 option. For this, you're going to have to sign in into your Sipura box under Regional I believe, all the way down towards the bottom & delete the (*65) entry until it's blank, save settings & you should be good to go. Seem like Broadvoice uses their own method & don't like it when you set the codes on the Sipura box. Now you can just pick up your phone & dial *65 & wait for the second tone & continue to dial as you would. I hope that helps!

Hi, DreamMasher, thanks for the reply but....

I tried some things, but nothing seem to work.

What I'm trying to do is set it up the way it was initially, except to stop incoming anonymous calls.

I'll see if resetting to factory settings and re-provisioning works.

Updated: Yup, it worked. I guess I pressed something that made the Sipura get leery of sending my caller ID out.
