Default ## to call New Number on PSTN-VoIP

Recently switched to BV from VoipTalk. With VoipTalk, calling PSTN-VoIP thru my Cellphone while away from home, I could dial ## to disconnect the current voip call, and dial another number, this would prevent me disconnting the cellphone, dialling my home pstn line again to make a call to another number. With BV, ## has no effect, anything I need to change?.

Thanks
Riz

How could you have your spa3000 to use the pstn-voip feature with BV? I am still trying and I can get to call only toll free american numbers, let me know if you have some special tip for the dial plan, thank you

. OK.. initially, I couldn't really get ANY calls either, except sometimes, some American numbers would go thru randomely, dial codes like 611 etc were working well. So I searched the Voxilla forum, and made the following changes to my settings:

For Both Line 1 and PSTN Tabs:
G729a Enable: yes
G723 Enable: yes
G726-16 Enable: no
G726-24 Enable: no
G726-32 Enable: yes
G726-40 Enable: yes

Under Line 1:
DTMF Process INFO: NO
DTMF Process AVT: NO
DTMF Tx Method:Auto
Hook Flash Tx Method:INFO

Under PSTN:
DTMF Process INFO: no
DTMF Process AVT: no
DTMF Tx Method: Auto

Another thing I did was, set SIP Port to 5060 for BOTH Line 1 and PSTN (default is 5061 for PSTN). and VOILA... things seem to be working well. In my initial testing atleast, I've even done two concurrent calls on the same a/c, one from the normal phone connected to the SPA, and one by dialling into the SPA thru my cell phone, had two calls, one to US, one to the UK, both went thru fine.

Please see if the above changes work for you and post ur experience here.

Hi again;

Whereas the setting changes I mention above for PSTN-VOIP calls on BV work, I've found it to be intermiitent; sometimes when dialling into PSTN thru cell phone, I can call any number, sometimes only USA number, sometimes none at all. Has anyone else had that problem?.

I'm beginning to think I should sign up with another BV lite a/c (5.95/month for 100 mins), or even IConnecthere or another provider and set it up on the PSTN line; anyone got a slicker/better solution?.

Also, ## to disconnect and get voip dialtone, any ideas?

Well, I've managed to screw up my setup almost completely . Before BV, I had Voiptalk setup on both my Line1 and PSTN line, used to do VoIP-PSTN and PSTN-VoIP w/o an issue. Switched to BV, loads of problems with anything besides the Line1 usage, so I configured my PSNT Tab back to VoIptalk. Now, calls to the BV a/c on line 1 don't get forwarded at all, a calls comes thru, after th 10 sec delay I've specified under Cfwd No Ans Delay, the calls is tranferred to my cell phone thru the PSTN line, however, as soon as I pick up my cell phone, I hear a fast busy and the call gets disc. Here is the PSTN line status when this happens:

PSTN Line Status
Hook State: Off Line Voltage: 7 (V)

A second VoIP provider (or even another line on BroadVoice) would be better than trying to trick BroadVoice out with a single account. I suspect there are some issues with setting both Line 1 and the PSTN Line to the same SIP port.

I've done that, now setup PSTN line to VoIPTalk (on Port 5061), still, the moment a forwarded VoIP call is pickedup on my Cellphone, I get a fast busy tone in the cell, the PSTN Tab shows Reorder. ANy ideas?

Well...it gets stranger, I seem to be able to get forwarded calls originating from the UK atleast (well, I was away from home, and my mother calls, and the call got thru and I managed to talk to her, this has happened onlyonce so I'm not sure if it was a fluke, or...calls from the UK atleast are all OK). I've been testing wiht my ICOnnecthere softphone on the PC to call the SPA to check forward to PSTN, that, plus any calls coming from the USA, definitely cause a Reorder on the PSTN status page, and on picking up, a quick disconnect. Could it be different regional settings, DTMF, setting or anyhtign else?.

Guyz, help me..I'm in the DARK!!!

Why don't you start all over again, by factory resetting, using the wizard, and turning of those 2 settings to OFF in the PSTN tab? I have one account w/ BV split bet. both sides of the 3000. Don't change the port settings, and this worked very well for me.

If you haven't already, use the tool on the board to save your current config which you just restore easily enough.
