We've also now added these two configuration changes to the Wizard so that whenever you use it to configure for BroadVoice, those two parameters are turned off.

Default RE: BV - SPA3000 PSTN to VoIP GW only connects 1-800 number

Hi Everyone,

I just bought a sipura 3000 and I have signed up with broadvoice. Everything is working fine so far as long I am making a call from home. Now I wanted to learn how to configurate so that I can call from work or my cell phone to my home phone and have the sipura 3000 get me a POTS line so that I can call overseas. Do I still need to buy another unit lie the FX-200 in order to make it work? Thank you in advance.

Use the SPA3000 Configuration Wizards.

Does the above "change DTMF Process INFO: to NO and DTMF process AVT: to NO" apply to other Sipura models using BV or only to the PSTN side of the 3000?

TIA,
- Don

(Sure would be nice is there were a single place to find out what each of these techno-bizarre items in the Sipura configuration pages means and what the recommended default setting should be for each Sipura model/application).

Still cannot figure out how to set gateway. I just wanted to able to call from my work and pass on to my sipura 3000 to get a dial tone after I enter my pin so that I can call oversea from work. My sipura 3k is working fine calling from home. Can someone help me please? I will post my setting, please let me know if I need to make changes to it. Thank you in advance.

Tony,

The first thing I would do is to upgrade your firmware from 2.0.8 to 2.0.11. Then, put the Caller IDs of the numbers you want to be calling from into PSTN Caller ID Pattern on the PSTN Line page.

Let's take another look when you get that accomplished.

Michael,

How long it usually take to update the firmware from 2.08 to 2.0.11. I have been trying to update for 2 hours and it still failed to update. Is there any secret to this.

Thank you,

Tony

Where is it stuck? Waiting for your SPA to be ready? You may have some function running inside your SPA that makes the upgrade utility think it is engaged, so you may need to perform a reboot with ****732668 from your connected telephone.

Are you running WinXP SP2? The firewall that Microsoft installed without your consent may be blocking the TFTP function if you aren't running any MS products that require TFTP in order to work. If this is your case you might need to disable the firewall or enable TFTP function through it.
