BV: Outgoing Caller-ID problems? I've just finally resolved an issue I had with my BV account and never could quite get pinned down until now. It seemed to happen this month with all the meltdown etc and I just assumed that it was a proxy type problem. My Caller-ID on outgoing calls which I made to others showed a very strange caller-ID # generally ending in "0000" and from a different area code. Also, SimulRing calls also seemed to get messed up in a similar way.
Well it turns out that two settings in my Sipura 2100 were set to "yes" and when I set them to "no" (based on specific BV tech advise), all these caller-ID problems cleared up immediately:
Block ANC Setting
Block CID Setting
Not exactly why they set ANC off, but CID makes sense now.
Hope this helps someone,
- Don
ps: Until BV makes this kind of info public, I think that we here really need to develop a table of these kinds of provider specific settings for our various Sipura devices.
