Default BV not honor the coupon

I bought a SPA from voxilla,I sent a email to ask BV if I can have the coupon appiled to my existing bv account.I got no prolbem reply. But when I submitted the coupon to them,I only got $9.95 activation fee deduction in next bill.sent numerous emails ,got a reply:
"We applied the Voxilla code to your account and have issued a $9.95 credit for the activation fee. Unfortunately, we do not ordinarily offer Voxilla discounts retroactively, as the coupons only apply to accounts recently opened with Voxilla devices."

but I think the coupon is a benefit assosiated with my purchase, not a trial account.IF they don't retroactively apply the coupon to my account, why gave me a $9.95 discount?I could have gave the coupon to my family or friends.

Default RE: BV not honor the coupon

The concept behind the coupon is to entice you to use your new SPA to sign up with new BV service. When you use the coupon BV confirms that the serial number belongs to an SPA purchased from Voxilla. It is the mark of good customer service that BV refunded your startup fee despite the fact that the coupon has no value toward an existing account.

Unfortunately, all of these factors would have prevented you from giving the coupon to anyone else, because they would need to use your serial number (which would be rejected by BV because it is associated with your account) to validate the coupon.

I don't think so.many people have already used bv's serivce before they buy a SPA here.In my situation I used softphone to subscribe their service for serveral months before I purchased a SPA from voxilla.did you mean I can't use the coupon for my existing account? NO?? ok,I could open an new account for my family. The bottom line, they shouldn't void the coupon after have given me a YES answer.

Please explain how you could have opened a new account for your family if you have the SPA with the qualifying serial number and they don't?
