Default BV on gw1 spa3k

Hi,
Last week I configured my spa3k to make calls using BV on the gw1 but now I get a recording "The device you are trying to use is not registered...."
Is it only me?

Thanks

Your BV credentials must be registered to either the Line 1 or the PSTN Line side of your SPa-3000 in order for you to make or receive any calls.

Thanks mberlant.

I made some test calls from 2 different locations using this method last week.
My 2 spa's have line 1 and pstn registed to fwd and none of them had BV registered in Line1/pstn only gw1.
Weird! Maybe BV disabled HTTP Digest.

It was handy... time to search for another provider that let do that.

Thanks

Is BV the only provider to use this method?
This would mean that you cannot have more than 2 providers on one SPA-3000, right?

This has always been true. You cannot have more than two registered providers on your two-line SPA-3000. One is your Line 1 provider and one is your PSTN Line provider.

In addition to this, there is facility for four outbound-only, no registration, termination providers. On top of that you can configure as many more termination providers into your Dial Plan as Dial Plan space provides.

Most people who want to use BV for both PSTN-to-VoIP and Line 1-to-VoIP dialing will put their BV credentials in both PSTN Line and gw1. If they prefer to receive BV calls on the Line 1 phone they will permanently Call Forward their BV number into the number registered on Line 1. In this manner, BV has the registration they require and you have the service flexibility you seek.

Just to check understanding...
So keeping Line 1 untouched (my preferred voip provider to receive calls)... and adding BV credentials to PSTN Line and gw1 this configuration will work. I don't really care being able to receive BV calls but if this is a plus and it can work it would be nice to have.

So...
Line 1: messagenet (italian number)
PSTN: broadvoice
classic phone plug attached to the spa-3k: will that one still work?

I would need to use:
- messagenet to receive voip calls
- broadvoice to make calls by calling directly from home or thru a gateway
- telewest (classic phone provider) as an entry point to my gateway to use BV to make voip calls

Is that possible?

Thanks

All of what you just said is true.

In addition, if you have unlimited Italian calling included in your BV plan you should be able to go into your BV Account Manager and forward all of your incoming BV calls to your number in Milano. Then, anyone who calls you on BroadVoice will ring your messagenet phone on Line 1.
