Default BroadVoice vs. Voxilla wizard for Sipura?

I've signed up for BroadVoice BYOD with Sipura 2002 yesterday and I am afraid I've already run into a problem :?

I used BroadVoice's configuration wizard and afterwards I can't log in as administrator; I don't see several tabs that I saw before and I generally feel that half of BYOD appeal has gone

Should I have used Voxilla configuration wizard instead? Can I still run Voxilla wizard now? Voxilla recommends to reset to factory defaults; however, there is this disclaimer:
Quote:
It is possible for service providers to restrict access to this feature. If you are using a SPA that has been provisioned by a provider, you may need the assistance of the service provider in order to perform this action.
Does anybody know if BroadVoice does it as part of provisioning (they did lock admin login, so I wouldn't be surprised)?

I may not be that eager to try something else, but I got a technical problem as well (and I am not sure if it's Sipura or BroadVoice): I can't hear the other party, and in about half of the calls the other party can't hear me either. Additionally (and I don't know whether it's related or not), when somebody calls me, and I don't pick up, the caller doesn't hear the voicemail recording (although it is set up to the defaults which is "go to voicemail"). If I call my number from my Sipura-attached phone, I get to voicemail administrative portal OK.

I hope that the technical problems will be resolved by BV tech support (although I got disconnected after 10 minutes on hold and haven't had a response to my email yet after 12 hours). But if somebody has the experience with the bigger question - BroadVoice wizard vs Voxilla wizard - I would greatly appreciate.

Sorry for long message. Being IT manager at work and network administrator 8) at home (although VoIP newbie), I hoped that the process will be a little more straightforward

Well, as an IT manager and network administrator I am sure that you are familiar with the term RTFM. The best manual is right here in the history of threads that have already addressed most of your points.

Yes, BroadVoice does set the Admin password when they provision your ATA. But, yes, you can ask them to tell you that password along with all of your other credential parameters.

Yes, BroadVoice is responsible for your audio problem if they are provisioning your ATA. And, yes, you are relieving them of that responsibility if you self provision.

So, choose a time of day when a call to BV Customer Service is likely to get answered quickly and phone them up again. Good luck.

p.s. Enjoy the wealth of information already posted.

Yep, I am familiar with RTFM. I wish there was a single manual that is more than 2 pages quick guide for Sipura and single page of quick guide from BroadVoice. Oh well, if it was difficult to write software - it should be difficult to use it! And I didn't think that a store (Voxilla) has such wealth of information... Lame excuse, I know, but I don't have any better!

and BV finally fixed the audio problem although I didn't get any response back... I just saw a post in this thread and tried. Now it looks like everything is working perfectly!

So, are you saying that it's not worth re-running Voxilla wizard (which would amount to self-provision, right?) but rather try to get admin password by calling BV customer cervice?

Thanks

Probably the best route for you right now is to request your credentials from BV Customer Service. This will allow you to preserve the settings that BV have configured for you while disabling further automatic provisioning updates that could interfere with your future adjustments.

Sipura has an extensive manual on configuration their SPA product line:
http://www.sipura.com/Documents/Sipu...uidev2.0.9.pdf.

You might want to check it out

See ya...
