Default Broadvoice problem

I have just signed up with Broadvoice and trying to use it with a Grandstream GXP-2000. I have the RoadRunner cable service and a Linksys WRT54GS router. I set up the phone for Broadvoice using the Voxilla wizard.

The problem is that the service works for just a few minutes after the phone reboots. If trying to make an outgoing call after that, I am having the '403 Forbidden The request is not allowed' error on the phone screen and busy signals in the handset. So, I have to reboot the phone again.

I have two other accounts configured in the GXP-2000 and they work just fine, only the Broadvoice has this problem.

Anyone can help with identifying the problem? Thanks a lot!

UPD: For the time being, the problem seemed to disappear after I switched to a different outbound proxy (from proxy.chi.broadvoice.com to proxy.dca.broadvoice.com).

Some of their proxies may be overloaded. I noticed the same thing too... Check the times by pinging them. You will find info on this on the support page for xlite on their site.

Ping times are often as not a red herring. They are not a reliable indicator of the loading, performance or general health of a particular proxy. Ping times only indicate how much latency you might observe, but has no relation to voice quality.

Well if there is alot of latency that might give me a good reason as to why my calls have so much echo??

Variation of latency is what the software struggles to deal with. If the latency is consistant then the ata would have an easier go at supressing echo. Ping times indicate how much latency you WILL observe, not might observe. The ping will also reveal dropped packets that would cause a break up of the voice. If your unit connects to another proxy without problem, then that proxy or the path you take to it is the problem.

Echo is most often caused by excessive gain in the voice path. Most ATAs have adjustable gain settings for this (and other) reasons. All things being equal, it should be a straightforward adjustment to balance the gain so that it is low enough to minimize echo while being high enough to allow for each party to hear the other clearly.
