Default Broadvoice finally up & running!

Ok, I know everyone is upset about broadvoice being down. My service hadn't been working since May 2nd, not even a dial tone. I had the latest sipura firmware & had it manually configured by the voxilla wizard. I was very frustrated, so I decided to downgrade to the broadvoice recommended sipura firmware & let my sipura be self configured by the broadvoice network. To my surprise, I had an instant dial tone & was making phone calls right away. LoL Damn, how I had missed my phone. I don't know how people in the old days survived! It's been going strong & stable since last night. I have the password that broadvoice put on my sipura, so I was able to go in there & see some settings. I did notice that for proxy server they had proxy-lax.broadvoice.com instead of the one that the voxilla wizard put that was proxy.lax.broadvoice.com. I hope this info might help some of you who are hurting for a phone right now. Keep us informed, to if this had any solution for you guys. Good luck!

Nope: as of 1035PDT Thurs (shortly after your post), BV is still down hard for GLBX based customers. See my :Unofficila Status Report" for more details.

The proxy at proxy.lax.broadvoice.com is the actual LAX proxy and DNS defined. The machine name with a hypne in it "proxy-lax.broadvoice.com" uses a different system to assign which IP# (which actual machine) you actually get as proxy. There are more detailed discussions here if you search in this forum.

HTH,
- Don

Well I'm sorry that this didn't work for anyone. It was worth a try to help someone. I don't know much about how the whole VOIP thing works in detail, but my service is finally back up completely. I've tried in & out calls already. I'm in Southern California using Adelphia cable. Good luck!

I certainly hope you're right and that you have better luck than I'm having. My service will return completely for hours at a time and then crap out for hours at a time. No rhyme or reason to it.

Nope, it hasn't gone down as of yet at least! As I type this, I'm currently talking on the phone from CA 714 to NC 336 with no problems of any. I have also had incoming calls from some co-workers of mine. So far so good, but if it goes down again I'll let you guys know.
