Default BroadVoice... Features, Servers, and Customer service???

Well,
I was just reading around the forums after a long absence and found out that BV seems to be supporting more audio codecs now (besides G.711). I was just wondering what other features they have been implemented. I know off all the features listed on their website but they are not very technical in nature and last I checked, BV only officially supported G.711 (although support for others was in Bata on certain proxies). What other codecs does BV support now? Is the support official and implemented across all their servers? What about their PROXYS? Any new ones? How about the Euro proxies that were rumored and in the works? I know 411 is now free but that is just because they sent me an e-mail announcing the feature. I was wondering what else they have done. It seems I am tad bit out of the loop as fare as technical features on BV goes, haven’t needed to change configurations for ever. Just happy with my service and its stability and dependability. Are all there proxies online and fully operational (last I check BV had every one using DCA)? Is international call forwarding supported again? How about being able to have Multiple lines on one account?

Signed,
Slice

P.S. does anyone know how many customers BV has now?

P.P.S. Anything else new with BV?

Does anyone besides me still use BV? How many customers do they have now? Why are these forums so dead?

I'm still using them, for sixteen months now. My service continues to be flawless. And since I don't rack up thousands of minutes to South America each month, I've had no billing issues either.

My only complaint is that they can't seem to port my old number. I've given up, and parked it at Telasip, just to get it out of the clutches of SBC. At this point, most everybody calls my BV number anyhow.

I have no idea how many customers they have...I only hope they have enough to stay in business, as I'd hate to lose the service!

PS - I'm still using the DCA server, with an SPA-1001 registered as generic BYOD. I think self-provisioned BYOD is a key to success with BV.

I firmly believe in self-provisioning, it works great for me!

you can't beat the price. Customer service is inexistant though. I have never really gotten any help from them when there's a problem (e.g. the one I'm experiencing with calls to Brazil now). ...

I've been with them for over a year now and like I said: you can't beat the price.

Call quality for US is good.

Agreed. As an East Coast BYOD user, I've found that DCA server works well as does NYC. SPA-1001 has proved more reliable for me than SPA-2000, both with current v.3 firmware set up via Voxilla wizards.

I have had occasional problems, with some customer-service reps knowing and caring more than others.

Though I've come close to canceling, at present I've had a couple of weeks of perfect service and consider myself satisfied.

I am on BYOD lite (pay per minute after 100) so no billing controversies.

I have had no problem with customer service. Everyone always knocks how bad it is, but everytime I call the person that answers is always very friendly and tries to help me with the issues that I have. Does it always correct the problem? No, but they try.

I've parked some phone numbers with Broadvoice on their BYOD lite plan. I treat them mostly as an inbound DID provider (I have one outbound international route with them in my dialplan, but it is not an included charge so no fights).

BV has solved your lack of billing issues. Now you don't have to call South America to rack up some hefty charges. You can just call 911. It's only $100 per call ... but you get one free call every year. Or you can waive all of your rights and pay for their lawyers when they fail to connect you to 911. Then your 911 calls are free. You get what you pay for, I guess.
