Default Broadvoice - Announcements soon? Any guesses out there?

BV's website indicates that announcements are due soon. Any guesses out there as to what these are about? Falcon?

My speculation:

- Fax support

- Hosted PBX features

Falcon is a combination GSM/WiFi phone. You can now rig Asterisk (and probably other programs) to transfer calls that the PBX controls between your cell phone and the wi-fi phone when you come into range of your signal and/or when your signal terminates abnormally (e.g. you walk out of range rather than hangup).

Hosted PBX is interesting, but I want to see hosted PBX providers that are more like webhosting services, e.g. they rent you a naked piece of real estate hooked up to good quality lines rather than someone who is still trying to seel me the long distance services (only through them) and then selling it to me by the extension.

This will be a hard model for the industry to embrace because they see the tradition phone company model as a way to maximize profits.

I rent semi-naked space on my Asterisk. It is semi-naked because I charge a fixed price for each extension and let the client bring his own provider(s). I manage the whole Asterisk and do not permit client management, but I get to be out of the loop on per minute billing hassles.

Default Fax?

Why would you guys consider "Fax" as a major announcement?

To be honest I doubt anything that is annouced is going to be "major" in our eyes.

Fax would only be a major announcement if BV have deployed T.38. Any other "support" of fax is only inviting trouble calls from subscribers who can't use fax service due to limitations outside of BV's control.

The last time I spoke with 'man on top' of Broadvoice's network he did mention that T.38 was in the works.
