Default VOIP pakistan (ports open or blocked)

I know this is braintel forum. But I want to find out whether the VoIP ports are blocked or open in pakistan. As for some ISP's ports are blocked but for some they are open.

I know friends who are successfully using http://www.go4b.net.pk/ to connect to Gizmo and FWD using ATA like PAP2 etc in karachi.

But I have some friends who are struggling to get PAP2 working with FWD or Gizmo in Lahore with home DSL of http://www.lhr.wol.net.pk/. Are the ports like 5060 being blocked by these ISPs or by PTA.

Also if ports are blocked with http://www.lhr.wol.net.pk/ are there any other providers besides WOL where these are open. Someone mentioned Wateen might have this open.

Help would be appreciated.
regards,
triwhdxk

It’s all contacts!

Port 5060 is officially blocked in Pakistan, but just like your friends some people have been able to have the privilege of getting it open on their connection mysteriously!

The best VoIP service which can work properly in Pakistan is obviously BraiNTEL but vbuzzer works perfectly fine too, you can PM me and I can tell you it’s exact setting for soft phone or ATA devices!

You should try to consult http://wiredpakistan.com/forums/ because most of members there are from Pakistan and they will be able to give you better information regarding the ISP’s and blocked ports!

believe me no contacts are being used. by the way if i have solved my issue of port blocking. 5060 & 5061 is blocked. so use a provider which does not use this port. search the forum and you will get an answer.

That's grest news. I did mentioned about www.vbuzzer.com in my last post, some people have been able to use well known names like vonage in Pakistan but on different ports then 5060 and 5061.

I am using trixbox fine (located in north America) with few extension in Pakistan. Not using standard sip port. Vbuzzer, fwd and few other providers which let you override the sip port also work fine.

Hello Cyberbird - Can you please tell me which SIP ports you are using in Pakistan for your TB extentions?
