Default Settings for EyeBeam 1.5

Hi,

First I would like to say, how great this forum is especially for BrainTEL users, since BrainTEL's own forum-site is down.
I have just recieved a BrainTEL No., but I am a newbie to the whole softphone thing. So I have just installed EyeBeam 1.5, but the setting configurations posted in this forum doesn't match with this version. I would like to use this newer version, sice I have bought the licence.
This softphone is from CounterPath former Xten, and its User Guide can be found here
https://s3.amazonaws.com/0W6GQ7E1ZFE...User_Guide.pdf
I would really appreciate it, if someone could help me with the settings. I also wanted to know, if I could with this softphone forward inbound calls to a SIP address of a voipdiscount-user. How would this SIP address then look like? Here you can see the SIP settings for voipdiscount
VoipDiscount

Thanks in advance from baseclone

Default Re: Settings for EyeBeam 1.5

Thx a lot for the info mirza001... but under Domain Proxy in Properties of Account I know I should check the place where it says Register with domain and recieve incoming calls, but it doesn´t say where to check in the 3 places under Send outbound via. In the window screen it is checked by target domain, so I just wanted to be sure that it is there I am suppose to check it.
It does say that I am not to change any other settings, so I am not to change the value of Max. time under Advanced to 500 as with the older version you have written in a post. I also wanted to be sure that I should uncheck Send SIP keep-alives under Advanced options, because on my version which is the same it is checked by default.
I also wanted to know what settings I would need to be able to forward an inbound call to a voipdiscount user. Can I just write the SIP address as sip:username@voipdiscount.com under Voicemail --> Forwarding.
I also wanted to be sure that I don't need to change the options of EyeBeam where I also have to write a primary and secondary DNS server.

I am sorry for the many questions, but I don't want to run into some problems further on, because of some settings.

Thanks again for your help mirza001 and I would really appreciate any further help from anyone.

thx in advance from baseclone

Post Re: Settings for EyeBeam 1.5

Under Domain Proxy in Properties of Account I know I should check the place where it says Register with domain and receive incoming calls

It’s checked by default and if not you are correct; it has to be checked.

It doesn’t say where to check in the 3 places under send outbound via. In the window screen it is checked by target domain, so I just wanted to be sure that it is there I am supposed to check it.

Again with this latest version of eyebeam 1.5.11 they have made the default setting correct and it should be checked for target domain.

It does say that I am not to change any other settings, so I am not to change the value of Max. time under Advanced to 500 as with the older version you have written in a post.

Some people had problems in receiving calls so I am recommending 120 seconds; values from 100 to 500 works fine.

I also wanted to be sure that I should uncheck Send SIP keep-alives under Advanced options, because on my version which is the same it is checked by default.

For this you will have to try both settings “Use rport” and SIP keep alive”, I believe you have full version and this settings may help for video support.

I also wanted to know what settings I would need to be able to forward an inbound call to a voipdiscount user. Can I just write the SIP address as sip:username@voipdiscount.com under Voicemail --> Forwarding.

Regarding call forwarding the SIP server has to support it and for billing purposes most of the VoIP providers don’t support call forwarding, so you can’t forward the calls to your voipdiscount account for BrainTEL calls; there are many other threads regarding this in voxilla fourm.

I also wanted to be sure that I don't need to change the options of EyeBeam where I also have to write a primary and secondary DNS server.

Primary and secondary DNS server settings were only recommended by BrainTEL official configuration and I don’t agree with them. These settings are automatically selected by your system from your router and ISP so you don’t have to put any thing in there.
