| | Pakistan Call from US AoA to all
I have just recently come to the US for studies and was wondering if there is a cheap way to call pakistan. I did a google search and came to this wonderful forum.
Currently I am using amantel to call pakistan, which is quite expensive. My parents live in Islamabad, can somebody please guide me what will be the cheapest and most efficient method i can make calls to pakistan.
Thanks in anticipation. |

| | Re: Pakistan Call from US Not being funny but, best get them to call you!!! - calls from Pakistan to USA/Western Europe etc are in the range of 3-5 ruppers/min, dirt cheap really,
The cheapest I've found for Pakistan via VoIP is around 5-6 cts/min. You could also look at signing up with Braintel, get urself a Lahore phone number and make calls to pakistan for 3-5 rupees.

In case I have the wrong idea about how it works, is it possible that the poster's family have an ata? If they do, couldn't he call them for free by calling their sip address? |

| | Re: Pakistan Call from US As indicated on their website lowratevoip gives you only 30 free days! http://www.lowratevoip.com/en/faq.html
" Buying credits entitles you to 30 Freedays (unless stated otherwise). This means you can call all countries in the free* destinations list for 30 days at no costs. When the 30 days are over, you will keep your credit, and the normal rate will be charged for these destinations." My suggestion don't go for it, if you will be able to keep record of your free minutes and able to use your 10 Euro on other expensive calls every month than fine; they have done good calculations. You should get unlimited US/Canada dialling plan on your cell or home phone and use www.dialnow.com and register your phone numbers on the website and use Canadian access number to call call Pakistan, it costs about 2.2 cent per minute for landline and mobiles; its like using PIN less calling card.
As Riz sugested and if your parents have highspeed Intenet, you both can have two ATA's connected for free SIP to SIP calls using vbuzzer.com free account using port 80! Still nothing like BrainTEL if its working fine.
