Credit goes to Majo for providing quick information regarding “voipraider” and it’s false advertisement; I have read just negative comments about it: http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/s...ght=voipraider

I have been using a backup service when BrainTel goes down. www.callcentric.com

No setup fees, No additional charges for SIP device, Dirt Cheap incoming numbers ($3 / m for US) and no setup charges for some numbers!

Rates to Pakistan? $0.0429 / min to anywhere in PK including cellphones. Best thing about it is: Pay as you go ! Add what you want. No additional fee for ATA.

If you call mobile phones / NWD then this is possibly equal to or better than BrainTel 0.0429 * 65 = 2.78 Rs/min anywhere in PK

I am using centric for years, works great, good rate, highly recommended.

I do not see any value in Brain anymore, audio is always choppy. Planning to cut it lose. Every time you call them, they give you same foolish replay, "Sir; we are working on it".

If your parents have broadband and a computer, subscribe to Majic Jack, send the USB dongle to Pakistan and enjoy unlimited long distance for less than $2 per month ($20 initial investment for the equipment).

Does anyone has a successful experience with using magic jack from Pakistan? With all the restrictions and service blocking going on in Pakistan I would not be surprised if this doesn't work from Pakistan. I have had my family try using msn chat, netmeeting, lowratevoip and voipraider with no success.

Thanks for the suggestion Mirza jee. But using vbuzzer would require purchasing credit. However in my voipraider I have about 1 year's free calling to the US and other free destinations. I was wondering if I can use my voipraider SIP account to forward my braintel calls to my US cell phone. I know asterisk is one option but I have no idea how to configure that. I think a potential problem could be the transcoding since brain uses g729 whereas voipraider uses g711. Any ideas???
