Ask your paretns to buy a sim from Zong in Rs.150 and they should give your phone number to Zong. Then they can only call your number in 1 Rupee per minute. If they dial 905 from their Zong cell, they will be connected to the internet that is 25 paisa per minute; Rs.15 an hour. You send them a link of Gizmo5 from the
www.gizmo5.com site to their cell phone and ask em to download that and get a username and password for themselves. Use your Gizmo5 softphone or configure an ATA device with Gizmo5. Then they can call you free all the times. From their cell phone card only 25 paisa per minute will be deducted for internet use.
Only your parents will do that hassle but the other Pakistanis never call even its 100% free unless they need money.
If you want to call them, go
www.talkinip.com , either download their softphone or configure a device and call your family in $0.0437 a minute. If you call for half minute, you will be charged 2 cents only.
If you want total free call from your parents, go
www.tpad.com , download their softphone or configure a device. There are 33 call in numbers of Pakistan for major cities. Suppose if your parents live in Lahore, give em Lahore number and your Tpad ID number so they can call your Tpad phone or softphone as a local call. PTCL rates for local and long distance calls on Sundays are half these days. They call your Tpad number paying 33 paisas per minut as a local call and 66 paisas a minute in other days. Suppose if they live in the city which number is not available, they will call other available city number and pay 1 Rupee per minute on Sundays that is 1.25 cents a minute and Rs.2 per minute rest of the days that is 2.5 cents a minute.
If you have 3G internet on your cell phone and your parents have Zong sim, both have Gizmo5 on their cell phones, can call each other free.
If your brother or sister in Pakistan is student, can pay Rs.840 per month to PTCL for DSL of 512kb speed and unlimited download. Then you can talk to each other free 24 hours live if u have broadband internet here.
You can see each other 24 hours. If a cat enters your kitchen at night in Pakistan to steel milk when all are sleeping there, you can hear the falling Pateeli (Pan) sound here if you both dont disconnect your webcams and computers.
I think, it is more than good enough if you and your family step up.
