Can voipuser account work with Braintel on PAP2T ?

Hi Brothers n sisters !

I have Braintel configured on Port1 of Linksys PAP2T. I want to configure voipuser.org account on port 2 so calling from Pakistan is easy on UK number and cheap too. PTCL is blocking dialing Braintel numbers in Islamabad so atleast I want to be able to recieve calls on my voipuser number. But I m trying to configure PAP2T using voxilla configuration but it doesnt work Braintel connects but voipuser doesnt. voipuser uses 729 codecs so I have enabled PAP2T to use only 729 for voipuser account as well. Does it making any problem? I have not been able to login even once

None of the VoIP services will work for you except BrainTEL and vbuzzer!
The reason being port 5060 is mostly blocked in Pakistan, if you have proper contacts you can have it working for you!

Your details are not very clear for using voipuser, you want to make calls using it or you want to receive calls using it from U.K

I would strongly suggest you to use vbuzzer for making and receiving calls for U.K and I can help you configuring it on your PAP2T with proper dial plan, it supports G711a and G729a but for Pakistan it will be better to use G729a. Vbuzzer call for U.K costs 1.7 US cent per minute and you can receive calls free on it if you buy incoming US or Canada number for US $ 2.28 (including tax). People in U.K can also call you free using sipbroker support and dialing their local gateway numbers; they will have to press some extra number or they can program their phone with speed dial option and store that long number and digits.

Thanks a lot for your detail reply. I am using Free world dialup on my pc in Islamabad. And I can recieve calls using ADSL and it works perfect. But on dialup it has some delay. This means port 5060 is not blocked..am I right ? as FWD uses port 5060. I want to use voipuser as I can't dial Braintel from my PTCL number to talk to my brother in Qatar but he can call us using Braintel. So I want to configure two numbers for him on PAP2T so he can use Braintel for out-going and voipuser for incoming (to recieve our calls). The reason I like voipuser is that it uses 729 codecs which work even on my dialup connection.
I tried voxilla configuration wizard Linksys PAP2-NA, PAP2T-NA Configuration Wizard - Voxilla but still it doesnt work. But these SIP services work using soft phones.

It will be so nice of you if you can help me configuring voipuser or any FREE ( ) service that uses 729 codecs.

Yes you are correct regarding port 5060; it’s not blocked by your ISP.

Regarding BrainTEL numbers being blocked, I had similar situation last year and when my BrainTEL number was called from Islamabad particular exchange the message was that it’s unlisted number, so I talked with BrainTEL support and informed them about the situation and they had it resolved within week or so. Now as they have won their case against PTCL, which PTCL filled with PTA; calling to BrainTEL numbers should not be blocked.

For voipuser not working on your PAP2 unit, it seems like some configuration problem; if you can e-mail me your configuration I can check those for you.

Regarding using G729a for internal calls within voipuser network, it might not be possible as most of VoIP setups only support G711u for internal calls, you should ask this question in their forums and you will get correct answer.

I am grateful you replied my post .I have send you an email (but not sure if it is delivered) Voipuser forum is not very welcoming (atleast for me) so I want to go for FWD. Using configuration wizard available here:

If I click on System tab in Linksys PAP2T configuration then I see Domain: chat.brain.net.pk Primary DNS 203.128.3.18
and Secondary DNS as 203.128.7.10. DNS Query Mode : Parallel
So does this DNS entries can cause any problem ? But these are required for Braintel I guess.
It will be really nice of you to give your precious time in helping me in this. I hope you will reply and your help will work. If you like I can upload linksys configuration pages screen-shots for you to see.

All you’re setting are correct except for system tab and you DO NOT need to enter any brain information there, check the attached picture:

Thank you Mirza gee I have tried that but still no success with any of these providers, voipuser, FWD. I even tried sipgate.co.uk but nothing works. I removed Primary and secondary server from the "System" and it still connects to Braintel. Then I tried removing chat.brain.net.pk from the Domain under System tab, Braintel still connects but not any account on 2nd port.

Can you open up free account with vbuzzer and try configuring it on your PAP2T?

Just follow the same settings as BrainTEL to configure, except for sip server use "vbuzzer.com:80" and for SIP port use 80 also.

Thank you for your reply. Can I use configuration on this page Linksys PAP2-NA, PAP2T-NA Configuration Wizard - Voxilla to configure Vbuzzer ? What should be the dialing plane ? I m doing that, I have read somewhere that it is possible to use ipkall with vbuzzer but that info is incomplete.

You can definitely follow the voxilla configuration link to configure your ATA; one thing which I will recommend you to change is the “Register Expires” value from 60 to 500.

I will PM you fine tuned vbuzzer configuration soon with updated dial plan and yes you can forward your IPKALL number to vbuzzer it works fine.
