You have to pay to activate your acount - for some reason they also charge VAT - this is the reply I got from them about VAT.

"There is no current regulation on this in the country where YakaCall is
registered. We have to charge VAT to be on the safe side.

Well, the web site and DNS are both in Germany, so it's hard to understand why they would charge VAT outside the EU.
