Default Welcome to the Asterisk Users Forum!

As more and more people are seeing the advantages of running Asterisk in a small office or at home, it's becoming clear that there is not a lot of good Asterisk documentation out there for the first-time user.

This forum is for and by Asterisk users, as well as those who are considering diving into this powerful and affordable PBX. Voxilla will publish frequent articles on how to get the most out of Asterisk. And in this forum, we can all help each other out.

So post your questions and ideas, share your conf files! We can even explore ways to build our own little phone company by creating a parallel network of Asterisk users.

The possibilities with Asterisk are almost endless; let's get together and exploit them.

This was the FAQ in my mind too, a couple of days ago. But since it seemed to be a bit uneasy to actually ask it, I found this instead:

Asterisk: The Future of Telephony

It has it all. Just read and follow the instructions. After you've done it, it might be pretty obvious why any one wasn't too anxious to answer the question for four months now. The book covers Linux, but I hadn't any kind of problems following the instructions using my Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger mini machine.

HI: I am new here also. Looking for solutions for my home.

Try : trixbox, an Asterisk-based PBX Phone System (formerly Asterisk@Home) | trixbox then type in your question in the search area and you will be surprised.
Tribox also has manuels to download, print out and get your Asterisk trixbox up and running.

Hi
Joined to this board recently, and I have to say this place is great!!.

I would like to recommend a book,(of course Asterisk, the future of thelephony it's a MUST HAVE to anyone dedicated to asterisk)

I bought it a while ago, and even small as it is, is full of very good working examples, it was really useful for me and still is.
Building telephony systems with asterisk
ISBN 1-904811-15-9

kinda pricy for 160 pages but worth every penny for sure.
