VoIP IVR setup question

Hi guys,

Here's the question that has been bothering me for days and since I see no solution in sight I'm asking for your help. I need to implement a VoIP IVR solution. A very basic one: customer calls, listens to greeting, inputs number, system checks data in mySQL databse, outputs message to customer. I have no idea what I need to do to make all of this a reality. That is what would I need in tems of software and/or hardware.

Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Asterisk will do this for you. Have a look through www.asterisk.org and Google for "asterisk mysql" for a start.

You don't need a very powerful PC to host the Asterisk, nor an expensive VoIP service plan. I recommend you get an Asterisk working and come back here when you hit the inevitable roadblock.
