| | Voicemail on Trixbox Troubles Hi, all.
I'm a new Trixbox 1.1.1 user (about a week). I've got pretty much everything working just fine except for voicemail. I've set up my mailbox for my extension (101) with greetings, name recorded, etc. But when I call in from outside and use *101 from Digital Receptionist I just get a "femail voice" telling me to leave a message. If I dial *98 from a remote extension, I can't login (tells me my login is invalid. But if I *98 from inside, I can get in fine.
I really don't know where to look. I've checked that I'm allowing all SIP calls in. Where else should I look?
Thanks in advance...

| | RE: Voicemail on Trixbox Troubles This is just my opinion, but it's generally bad practice to choose a function code that conflicts with an established standard. *98 is the service code for effecting a Blind Transfer, used by many Centrex, PABX and ATA manufacturers. Chances are very good that your ATA at your "remote extension" is trying to process *98 as a Blind Transfer, and is therefore not sending the digits to TrixBox for processing.

| | RE: Voicemail on Trixbox Troubles My remote extension that I mention is simply a wireless IP phone (Hitachi WIP5000) that is going outside the firewall and calling back in. The same thing happens when I call in from a POTS phone. |

| | RE: Voicemail on Trixbox Troubles Thats kind of known, but I'm not sure what the answer is.
If someone dials an extension and no one answers then you get the custom recordings. If an IVR drops the call to the VM box it seems to use the system recordings. |

| | I had the same problem I had the same problem, and even though it doesn't make sense to me, How I fixed it was this:
Goto the General Settings tab, e.g. ( http://x.x.x.x/admin/config.php?type...isplay=general )
And change this option: Direct Dial to Voicemail message type from: default to: Unavailable
This worked for me.
Also, just in case, make sure the permissions are correct on the .wav and .WAV files in /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/device (then in the extensions you've made)
Also, check to make sure that you have default for vm context: in the VM section of the extension you're trying to fix. |

| | RE: I had the same problem I am having a similiar problem - but not sure if it is the same ---
I just did a fresh install of trixbox 1.1.1 and have the latest update.
I setup my vm, but when i try to login, i get an invalid password. Weird thing is i can log in on the recording page and see my vms.
Also, my polycom 501 will show that i have a message, but if i use the *97 (or *98) to check my voicemail, it asks for my extension (it didnt used to do that - since it already knows my extension) (dtmf is set to rfc2833 for the extension/vm set to default context)
Now it will actually ask for the extension, and then after i enter it, it will hang up.
Any ideas? |

| | RE: I had the same problem I had the problem when I would record a message that if I dialed from an internal extension it would play, but not from an outside did. This is what I did... I left the custom reorded one alone and picked option 3 (I think) to record a temporary one. The temp one plays on the outside DID and the custom using option 1 plays for the internal extensions. Kind of neat actually. |

Any ideas? | That normally happens when the directory don't exist for voicemail or dont have the right permissions to the files in the directory. | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
