Default voicemail only sends mail to some mail providers

My voicemail only sends mail to hotmail addresses (not to earthlink and a few others). I am using Fedora core 2 . Any suggestions?

Sounds like a problem with your sendmail or postfix configuration and not directly with Asterisk.

I don't mean to dissect your use of the English language, but do you mean to say that your system sends the messages but they don't arrive? Also, I assume that ordinary email messages created within your LAN and sent via the same SMTP sender are successful in being delivered.

In that case it is possible that something in your message is attracting the attention of a SPAM filter at the destination. Do you have a return address on your emails? Are you getting any rejection messages?

Believe it or not, Hotmail does very little to prevent SPAM from reaching the mailboxes of subscribers to their free service. Their desire is that these subscribers get fed up with the SPAM and subscribe to their paid service, which has a very effective SPAM filtering system.

a. I am assuming it sends the mail, I have not checked the log yet because I don't know exactly where it lives, but my gut feeling is that if it sending to hotmail then it is sending to all addresses.

b. I liked your idea about the message being filtered out somewhere en route, but it did not show up in the earthlink spam or know spam box either. it does have a wav attachment which I am sure triggers all kinds of alarm bells. So I am going to play around with the return address field and see if it gets me anywhere

I have some debugging to do. I was just hoping that somebody else had faced this problem before

the log file indicates that id did not successfully send the mail. The ctladdr does not look proper. No if I can only figure how to configure that parameter
