Voicemail not going to email

Hello! I've set up Asterisk@home and have been able connect SPA-3000s, X-Lite & a Cisco ATA-186 with success. My only problem is I cannot get the voicemails to be emailed.

Is there something I need to change from the default?

I'm not very literate on Linux so please speak to me as the dummy I am.

There's a distinct lack of answers around !

I've been having the same troubles, however, I've now got it working.

Perhaps your issues are the same - Because my *@h server was sending emails from the domain asterisk1.local , which doesn't exist publicly, emails were being bounced back.

I changed my hostname, by going to the command line on the server & typing hostname MYDynDNSAddress (replacing MyDynDNSaddress with either a DynDNS domain or your actual public IP address)

You may find you need to use your ISP's outgoing SMTP server if your asterisk server is using a dynamic ip or is not registered as an mx server for the domain it claims to be from. I get round this by using sendmail's smart relay feature:

[/etc/mail/sendmail.cf]

# "Smart" relay host (may be null)
DSsmtp.isp.com
