voicemail email trouble

So I finally am able to receive an email notification once I get a voicemail, except its in the .dat format. Any way to change this so that we can actually read it?

My mailsend is nail, on Gentoo. Thanks for any suggestions

I have the right format, but now the email comes from root. Is there a way I can change this?

hi use this in voicemail.conf
mailcmd=mailcmd=/usr/sbin/sendmail -v -t -f asterisk-pbx@yourresctive compnay.com
u shud activate sendmail service
