How are you encoding the file? I had the same problem. I have SoundForge and for some reason, even though I would specify 8 mono, Asterisk still wouldn't play it.

I would recommend using Goldwave to edit/record your files. It is a lot easier to learn and much more simple to save the files with the correct encoding. Over 15 attempts with SoundForge 8 mono and none of them worked, one try with Goldwave and it worked fine.

Another thing to check -- Try making a call to the non-working attendant. When it "picks up" but there is no sound, try entering something from your menu tree. If it goes to the option, then its probably the way your .wav file is encoded. If the menu tree doesn't work either, then it may be an issue with your call routing before it ever gets to the IVR.

Save them as 8000 Hz, 16 bits (not 8 bits) wav files. I use nero wave editor without problems.

Check the permissions on each of the wav files, make sure asterisk is the owner or otherwise allow R for all others (if root is the owner, asterisk my not be able to "see" the file. I hope it's that simple (was for me).

Newbie and I am having the same issue; when I go try and find the uploaded wav files and check their permissions they are not present! I am using 1.2.9.1 Asterisk.
