Default Trunk Blocking

Hello,

I am wondering if there is a way in trixbox to have a trunk block calls that meet a certain pattern.

For example, I have to PSTN lines attached through SPA3000's and one Stanaphone account. PSTN1 has an unlimited calling plan PSTN2 doesn't and it is very expsive. I want calls to go to line 1 then line 2 then stanaphone. But calls on line 2 that are not local, 911, or 800, I want to skip to trunk 3 (Stanaphone).

Thanks for any ideas.

I assume you mean a "trunk", not a "truck"? you're talking about outbound calls, i assume? if so, yes, this is easy. set up outbound routing based on dial patterns, and specify the trunks in the order you want them to be used. you can get an idea of this by going to the outbound routing screen...

Sorry about the typo :-), but you are correct. I've played around with the outbound routing but I haven't figured out how to make one trunk restrict long distance but still stay second in the list for local calls.

the trick is that you may need to specify the same patterns in each trunk. and make sure the trunk that should not allow LD calls doesn't have that pattern. the help stuff in the outbound routing screen has predefined patterns for these kinds of calls.
